This morning was one of those mornings where the sunlight just barges into your room like it owns the place. I was scrolling through Instagram in bed, as usual, feeling that mix of guilt and fascination. You know, how you can go from admiring a perfect breakfast spread to watching a dog ride a skateboard in two seconds flat? Anyway, somewhere between the influencer's endless smoothie bowls and the skateboard dog, I remembered something – this study I half-read about walking and creativity. Or maybe I just dreamed it... who knows?

So apparently, some researchers at Stanford found out that walking can up your creativity by like 60%. Or was it 40%? Either way, it seemed like a lot. The idea is simple: you walk, you talk, and your brain pops out creative sparks like it's some kind of idea popcorn machine. It's kind of funny to think that all those boardroom meetings might have been better off happening on foot. But then again, when's the last time you saw someone stride confidently into a meeting room and say, "Hey, let's take this outside"? It feels like a scene they would cut from The Office for being too unrealistic.

And yet, I can't help but think back to times I've felt stuck. Like staring at a blinking cursor or the endless scroll of social media for inspiration that never comes. It's not like I haven't tried getting up and moving. You know that phase where you delete all your apps in a flurry of optimism thinking you're going to suddenly become productive? But then you spend 20 minutes trying to remember your password for the app you deleted just yesterday? Yeah, that phase. Maybe walking is sort of like that – seems great until you realize it's raining outside, and the couch is right there.

But maybe there’s something to this whole movement and cognition thing, whatever that actually means. I think there was another study somewhere – not sure where – talking about how moving our bodies also moves our thoughts around. Like a game of mental pinball. And don’t even get me started on that bit about outdoor exposure benefits. I think that’s the one about how seeing green things like trees and grass helps you, I dunno, "reset" your brain or something. But then again, my potted plant died last week, so maybe I’m not the best judge here.

I can’t help but wonder, though, would a walking meeting really make me any more creative? Would it resolve the fundamental issues of my scattered brain, or is it just another one of those productivity hacks that sounds great in theory? I don’t know. I feel like I’d probably end up just distracted by squirrels or too out of breath to focus. Even thinking about organizing one seems hard – like, how do you take notes while walking? Do people just memorize everything? It's as if I didn't already have enough to juggle.

So now I’m left with this vague idea that maybe I should start talking to myself while strolling down the street, hoping to ignite some miraculously creative thought. Or maybe I should just download one of those step-counting apps again and pretend I'm preparing for a walking meeting with my invisible team of genius idea-havers. Who knows, maybe the sunlight will bathe me in creative brilliance as I navigate the sidewalks. Or maybe I'll just trip over my own two feet.

And so, another day begins with more questions and few answers. I guess I’ll just keep stumbling my way through this creative wilderness, one uncertain step at a time.
