Woke up today with the sun kind of peeking through the blinds, that annoying way where it warms your face before you're ready, you know? And then I spent, I don't know, maybe fifteen minutes just lying there, scrolling through Instagram. The usual morning routine. I guess everyone does that. But it got me thinking, after seeing yet another post about some protest or another, like, socialism. What's the deal, right? How does this even work? Like, is it just some buzzword now or something that's actually happening somewhere? And then, maybe we all pretend to get it, but do we? I don’t know.

I remember this one time, a while back, I got into a heated debate with my friend Jake. We were sitting on my couch, and he'd just finished telling me about his new workout routine... or maybe it was his keto diet, can't remember. Anyway, we got talking and he was really into the idea of socialism. Said something about how it's supposed to make everything fairer, but then he, like, couldn't explain how exactly. I kept wondering: if it’s such a great idea, why's it so hard to just make it work, right?

So I did a bit of digging the other day—Google, you know, and a bunch of articles popped up. Some studies said socialism could reduce inequality, increase public welfare, or maybe it was improve healthcare. But then there's always stats about, you know, the market crashing, or something about people being lazy if everything's handed to them? I think it was around the 20 percent mark? Or am I mixing that up with something else? Anyway, it seems like every time someone tries to really go full socialist, things just get... messy?

And what’s that about, anyway? I remember my cousin tried this thing where he lived “off-grid” for a month. Said it was freeing, no reliance on the system, or some such ideal he had. By week two, he was back, crashing at my place because he missed Wi-Fi and takeout. Maybe humans just aren't wired for complete reliance on each other—or systems they can't see working, like, daily. I noticed deleting apps off my phone kind of feels the same. A good idea, in theory, but then you’re sort of lost without a map.

But okay, maybe it works if there’s, like, a balance? I heard something about Nordic countries doing well with it—taxes slam you but then healthcare is free, or something? But then someone else said it's not "real" socialism. So, what is it then? Does anyone know?

So many “maybe”s and “I think”s floating around my head. And then you toss in government, human greed, ambition, apathy... it's like trying to sift through my notifications and actually catching something useful. I think I’ll just keep scrolling and pretend I’ve got it all figured out. Or maybe I'll read more. Or not. I don’t know.

Anyway, if anyone’s got this whole socialism thing all figured out, hit me up. Or don't. I'll just keep thinking about it as the sun pokes through my blinds tomorrow morning... or maybe next week. Who really knows, right?
